Red Colour And CNY

Red Colour is synonymous with Chinese New Year. Traditionally Chinese always likes Red. It's a happy tone. It denotes prosperity. It tells of celebration. It speaks of good fortune. It always goes hand-in-hand with Chinese New Year Celebration. (But our kiddos have gone a bit too far when they had red tongues...no, no fault of theirs...just the colouring that my sister put in into her agar-agar- for Chinese New Year sake...usually she wouldn't put any.)

Many of us will decorate our house with Ang (Red in Hokkien) Pows every where. Red cloth over the lintel of the door...which is significant even for the Jews and the Christian as it reminds us of the blood of the lamb that was placed upon the lintel and door post so that the Angel Of Death will pass over the household...because they obeyed GOD definite and clear instruction given through Moses in Egypt (Exodus 12).

Likewise now...we have the LORD JESUS CHRIST in our heart (when we repent of our sin, call upon HIM for forgiveness, believe that JESUS died on my behalf, that the blood that HE shed is sufficient to pay for our sin completely, making HIM LORD of our lives) so that the punishment that are meant for us will not be meted out unto us...but upon the LAMB Of GOD (JESUS CHRIST). And instead eternal life has been granted to us. A Child of GOD...we have become (John 1 :12).

Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. ( Heb 9:22).

Then And Now - Part 3

My mom and my Aunt...

A Visit To Colmar Tropicale

We planned to visit Genting Highlands but decided to drop by Colmar Tropicale instead....which is a good thing. No not that Colmar is more fun or have more things to visit and do but that we discovered that our car brakes were making some uncharacteristic sound when we were driving down. So we abandant the plan to visit Genting Highland for now and will try again another time when we can.
Sorry mom...you have to wait a little longer.

Oh about Colmar...nothing much there actually...especially when we have to pay RM10 for an adult and RM8 for a kid upon driving in. The main part of Colmar are the buildings..with some street entertainment and other stuff...which you will have to pay extra.
There is also the Japanese Garden which is a short distance away..but after driving there, we realise that we have to park our car at the car park and wait for a coach to take us in. Lots of people were standing around...but not orderly or in-line to wait for the coaches to come...being that it's not too elderly friendly...we gave up the idea. Sad isn't it. Kind of like a waste of some good money.

2009 CNY Family Reunion Lunch

First Night Alone

This is the first time that our kids are sleeping in a room on their own (without anyone of us...that is). They have always been sleeping with us since they day are were born (except for a few occasions where they slept at 2 Ma Ma's house...without us or any of us.)
The question remains...will the kids miss us or will we miss the kids?
Next Day
The kids made it through the night.

2009 CNY Reunion Dinner

We had our family reunion dinner in a restaurant last night. The food was not not excellent but it was good. We were there at around 6.40pm and by 7.45pm we were done. We adjourn to our sister's place for homemade ice kachang while a group of us settled down to watch some slides from the computer and another group crowd round the TV since the computer screen was not big enough for all.

The whole reunion thingy seems to have lost some magic and definately no family bonding feeling. We all agreed that next year...GOD willing we will have it in someone's home...with home cook dinner. We will probably have to throw in some programme too, otherwise we are definately loosing the meaning of this CNY Family Reunion. So we need to start from now...getting back intouch with each other spending more quality time instead of leaving it to the last minute.

Yong Tau Foo Day

Ever wonder why sometimes when things happens...it will be repeated?

We planned to have Steamboat for dinner tonight...since we are having guests over...but we did not plan to have Chu Cheong Fun with Yong Tau Foo for breakfast and also Ampang Yong Tau Foo for lunch too...no...definately not planned for.

So you can say we have an overdose of Yong Tau Foo today...it will probably last us a few weeks.
Cheerio...

WAKE Services

Year 2009 is only 22 days and I have already attend 4 "WAKE" services. One each from Monday (19th January) till tonight (22nd January). It's a reminder to me that life is not to be taken for granted. We plan, yes, but the ultimate is not in our hands.

Family members, relatives, friends will not always be there. Someday...don't know when...GOD will call us, anyone of us. We are all in the hands of the loving and almighty GOD.

In tonight's WAKE, one sister who came up to give her eulogy for the Decease mentioned that, there actually has been 7 death since December 2008 and it's a calling HOME by our LORD for HIS loved ones...to be united with HIM and for their union with those that have gone HOME before them. There, their loved ones will be standing with open arms along with our LORD JESUS CHRIST. The FRIEND that will not and will never leave us or forsake us.

Tonight, together, the congregation sang the favourite song of the Deceased :

JESUS loves me! This I know,
For the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to HIM belong,
They are weak but He is strong.

Yes, JESUS loves me!
Yes, JESUS loves me!
Yes, JESUS loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

JESUS loves me! HE who died,
Heaven's gate to open wide;
HE will wash away my sin,
Let HIS little child come in.

JESUS loves me! loves me still,
When I'm very weak and ill;
From HIS shining throne on high,
Comes to watch me where I lie.

JESUS loves me HE will stay,
Close beside me all the way,
If I love HIM when I die,
HE will take me home on high.

Indeed there is no "If I love HIM when I die...". We are to be certain of our salvation. Of our repentance of our sin...of our owning the LORD JESUS as our LORD and only SAVIOUR...that only HE can saves us...There is no if...but only certainty..because it is GOD who elect us. It is HIM who called us. It is HIM who will justify us and it is HE who will glorify us...not by ourselves...lest we should boast.

To all my family members, relatives and friends...thank you very much for being a friend.

FRIEND...For Life

Ever met a friend that you would love to spend as much time as possible with? Someone who accepts you for who you are and would understand you...someone whom you would love to seek his opinion and advise? Someone whom you wish is by your side all the time..or rather you by his side?

He is a FRIEND whom I would love to sit by HIS side and to hear HIM speak and feel HIS warmth. HE who knows me through and through and there is no need for pretense. HE knows my limits and HE knows my capabilities. HIS intensions are always pure and only for my good and for my development.

Do you know...one day I will spend my entire eternity with HIM...praising HIM and adoring HIM? Eternity...no ending..with SOMEONE who loves you perfectly and SOMEONE who is perfectly pure.

Hope you will also want to know HIM too. It's really worth everything in this world.

We Are An Image Of...

Ivan tried to stick his head out of the handrail. It's a history repeating itself. One of the us (parents la) did the same thing years ago.

Our kids are our kids and they somehow have our traits. Our DNA. They will act like us or even response in similar ways. There are some actions that are spotanious and there are some I guess, they just see and follow. Scary isn't it. How I hope that our kids can be better than who or even what we are.
