Those Were The Days - Sundry Shop

Before the hypermarket like Carrefour, Tesco, Giant etc, we had Emporiums, Departmental Stalls and Supermarkets. And before that we had the every convenient Sundry Shops. That's where we used to do all our grocery shopping. An average shop carries all the dry goods...from food to household items. The more elaborate ones will even have fresh food like vegetables, chicken and even fish (I think..hey brother..correct me if I'm wrong).

Like some "extinct" creatures which later are found to be not, I chanced upon this little Sundry Shop that I thought would have been extinct inside Kuala Lumpur...but what do you know...it sure brings back memory. You know those shops that's not properly lighted. They sell almost anything and everything. They place all their good all over the place but yet orderly (because the shopkeeper can find all their things in a minute) and have just enough space for you to walk through the entire shop.

The shop is still selling the various types of biscuit from the thick glass containers with red cover. We tried the biscuit and they did taste really fresh. I guess the containers are effective in keeping them fresh.

Even found rattan cane in the shop. I bought one for RM0.60 and two packets of Ribena Sweets for the kids.
